E-Filing
Department of Buildings launched it's new e-filing system for virtually all construction job application filings. The new interview-style process assists applicants in preparing our newly-revised PW-1, Schedule A and Schedule B forms online for initial and subsequent filings. This system does not accommodate Post Approval Amendments, Initial Work Permits and other applications at this time.
P. Wolfe can advise you of the filing procedures for your DOB application.

New NYC Construction Codes
The New NYC Construction Codes are an important achievement for the Buildings Department and New York City: they mark the first comprehensive overhaul of the City’s Building Code in nearly 40 years. These Codes respond to many of our 21st century safety, construction and environmental concerns, and are more user-friendly for the professionals building our City’s very foundation. Certain administrative provisions, enforcement provisions and construction safeguards under the New NYC Construction Codes will go into effect on July 1, 2008.

Unprecedented Increase in DOB Backlog
Along with the recent changes to the construction codes and filing procedures came a wave of new application filings at Department of Buildings that has led to an unprecedented increase in the number of delays and backlog. Delays are having the greatest impact in Applications Processing which handles e-filing applications, permits, cashier payments and data entry; Plumbing Division which handles Plumbing Applications, Inspections and Signoffs; Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner Appointments and Certificate of Occupancy Division which handles Certificates of Occupancy and Signoffs.
Advance planning and efficient time management by the P. Wolfe team will help to avoid costly delays in the processing of all your DOB applications.
