Stop Work Order Program
On November 25, 2008, Buildings Commissioner Robert LiMandri launched a new program that outlined Department of Buildings policies for rescinding Stop Work Orders. This program was designed to streamline communication between the Department and the construction industry and better ensure construction sites are maintained in a safe manner.

New Art Commission Approval Requirement
To protect the integrity of City-owned buildings, the required item for Art Commission approval now automatically applies to all applications for proposed work affecting building exteriors on City-owned properties that are not landmarked. Landmarked properties remain under the jurisdiction of the Landmarks Preservation Commission. The Art Commission review was implemented since 2005 but can now be enforced as the City gains the ability to link it's agencies computer networks.

Deadline Approaching to Pull Permit
If your job was at approved status as of June 30, 2008, the permits for the job must be pulled before January 1, 2009 otherwise the "2008 TR1 Required" item (prior-to-permit) and 2008 Code Special and Progress Inspections will be required.
