Final Inspection Report Deadline Reminder:
Effective October 1, 2009 any architect or engineer conducting a final inspection must submit a final inspection report to the Buildings Department within 30 days of the final inspection. This requirement allows the Department to better monitor the quality and standard of work performed on projects that don’t require a new or revised Certificate of Occupancy.
In their final inspection report, the architect or engineer must attest that the work complies with:
-
Approved Plans
-
The Building Code
-
Any Applicable Laws and Rules
The final inspection may only be performed after all work authorized by the permit is completed.
The final inspection must be completed within one year from the last valid permit’s expiration date. Architects or engineers who do not perform their final inspection within this time may be issued an administrative violation and inspection audit.
