Sprinkler Reports – Deadline Approaching

The deadline for the seven-year sprinkler compliance report is July 1, 2011. Owners of commercial buildings 100 feet and higher must submit a report indicating that the property is completely sprinklered.

Dept of Buildings Launches Annual No-Penalty Retaining Wall Inspection Program

Department of Buildings announced the launch of the Department’s annual No-Penalty Retaining Wall Inspection Program, which allows homeowners to request a free retaining wall inspection. Between May 2 and June 3, 2011, property owners can call for an inspection without the threat of a penalty.

Benchmarking Rule

The Benchmarking Rule has been published and was included in the City Record on April 1, 2011. 1 RCNY Chapter 100, Subchapter C §103-06 will take effect May 1, 2011. The adopted rule includes the following key changes to the proposed rule, which was open for public comment:
