Please be advised that gas self-certification will no longer be allowed for Manhattan projects come November 1, 2016. They will now require an actual physical inspection and witnessed by a DOB personnel/inspector. Inspections can be requested thru the DOB Now: Inspection portal and these inspections can be requested by selection of the following inspection types:
- PL - maximum of 3 floors requested
- PL - maximum of 9 floors requested
- PL - for more than 10 floors requested
Note: Requested floors are the number of floors that you want to be inspected.
When requesting for inspection you should also take note of the specific type of inspection that you require, you should note whether the inspection will be for Gas - Test or Gas - Finish and this should be place in the Additional Information box.
Now, should you have filed for advance notices for gas test and gas finish in Manhattan before November 1, 2016 then you will still be able to submit certifiable results to the Department of Buildings, this certification will be filed thru DOB NOW: Inspections for upto 24 hours from the time you have noted in your advance notice but after that you will be required to have the physical inspection instead.
